Mike, you can buy the print at art.com

a kinda cheap on line art gallery, complete with wide eyed children paintings and dogs playing poker, but the Japanese print section is actually pretty good! Most of the prints are knock offs of Hiroshige and Hokusai ( 1830s-1840s) with some famous ones like 'Under the Wave'. None of Utamaro's porno prints however! If you've ever seen any of those you will likely get a good laugh.

Check out the 'koi prints' if you go over there. Photos of Arkansas Bekkos galore! Pretty funny as they are being sold as ' koi art'. JR

ichiban gashitsu

thanks from the rest us for the link. Great artwork and the music just made it perfect. Anyone know where to get a copy of the music?

this will be going in my favorites for when I need a 5 minute break to relax.

Thanks for the link, JR. I collect authentic woodblock prints, love Hokusai and have several by him. Loved looking at those prints.

Even the knockoffs are fun to browse. I saw this reproduction for sale @ art.com and was reminded that I bid on an original of this print on a reputatable British site several years ago -- but was priced out of the competition.

Nice link, JR. Viewed in a series like that, the prints have an impact individual prints do not have. A vision of a lost piece of time. Music is rather melancholy, which fits the romantic quality.

That one was one of Kuroki's favorites and he posted the series print in the very first addition of RINKO as a header page. - JR

Another great Carp ukiyo-e, JR.

Can't see the signature or title blocks; but Kuniyoshi (or maybe Kunisada), mid 1800's, I believe?

Keep 'em coming!

Not sure now? I assumed it was Hokusai but now that I see the styles I'm wondering? How can we find out for sure? Kuroki can't help us! -JR
