Your question about the sumi on the left shoulder is an interesting one. Looking at the last photo, I wouldn't say it's "going to break" because that would mean the beni plate would separate. I do think however, that the sumi is rising in that area and will come through to the surface. Hopefully, it will help that heavy beni look on the front half. The beni plate looks light but thick and uniform. Although it does appear to be a male, time will tell if the netting becomes completely charcoal black like I think it will. Then it would be a lot more of a dramatic look. Especially if the beni deepens in color.
