We have'nt talk about Goshiki for a while.

What about this Goshiki. Two year old 12 in Hirio ( not sure of spelling). pattern? Body? Netting?
Does the beni on a Goshiki Have sashi look like it does on Gosanke? What about the break on the shoulder do you think it will spread. Last year it was just a fine black line.

Jim

Your question about the sumi on the left shoulder is an interesting one. Looking at the last photo, I wouldn't say it's "going to break" because that would mean the beni plate would separate. I do think however, that the sumi is rising in that area and will come through to the surface. Hopefully, it will help that heavy beni look on the front half. The beni plate looks light but thick and uniform. Although it does appear to be a male, time will tell if the netting becomes completely charcoal black like I think it will. Then it would be a lot more of a dramatic look. Especially if the beni deepens in color.

The break in question.
I think that area is gonna become "Showa Black" and thereby make this a showashiki within 2 Winters.

Nice Hi for now. The way sumi can be see along the edges of some of the lower red scales, the sumi coming up in the Hi plate, the intensity of the sumi at this size... all lead me to think that the sumi will over run the fish. ...What's going on with the head? In one photo it looks indented?

What happens if the red get a pepper look? (Black haze in the red) Does that ever clean up or remains the same?

Bought a tancho from goshiki bloodlines to see what I would end up with and getting this.....
I like how her body is turning out but not sure about the tancho yet. Dont mind the shape not being round but I hope the red doesn't keep the black cast.
almost 25" female

My guess is that the sumi will remain in the maruten. But, it is just my guess. I like everything else about her very much.

Kristine P ?

I remember seeing your goshiki a couple of years ago. You instructed me about buying goshikis pale--yours was all kohaku at that point. Always wanted to see that fish down the road. Beautiful skin and body. What breeder? Hope to see it at a show.
