Chagoi Breeder

I am looking for a nice chagoi to add to my collection and would like to know if there is a particular breeder that breeds nice chagoi with jumbo growth potential. Is there a particular breeder that you guys recommend? Any help is much appreciated. Thank in advance.

Thank you Nancy. Now how do I go about getting my hands on a nice nisai Marusei chagoi or a few tosai?

Maurice at koi-UK breeds domestic Cha in England from this breeders stock and is doing quite remarkably. I think everyone agrees that this is the bloodline for cha that you want.
Maurice gets a few of what I call honey cinnamon, that I would dearly love to add to my collection as well. I have also seen a few creme colored individuals that are quite unique.
My Koi Kichi over the decades bought his number 1 green tategoi a few years back and was very impressive. Pebbles definetely could be the poster child for his efforts

Yes I saw her last fall when I was down there. She looks like a giant submarine! Would love to have her but am scared that she will bite my hand off when I feed her!

Dick

I've long said that Maurice's Chagoi are far superior to the vast majority I've seen offered from Japan.

Whilst many from Japan are pale and insipid, those from Maurice have real depth of colour and excellent vignetting.

Thank you all for the great info. So it looks like the top three chagoi breeders are Marusei, Koi-UK, and Marudo. I will definitely do some googling on these breeders. Chagois are starting to grow on me and are starting to supplant showa as my favorite variety. I have two chagois right now and they by far have the most unique character: friendly, stubborn, imposing presence, and an attitude.
