Awesome video. Thank you for sharing. Several things I learned from this video: to get good growth, you need a good fish with good genetics in the first place, then you need high quality koi food and high temperature (at least 24 degrees C/75 degrees F). You also need maximum O2 saturation and excellent water quality/filtration. Thanks again for sharing.

Thanks for the video. Very cool.

I actually didn't know that food played such a big role. No more Kibbles and Bits for my koi.

That was an outstanding interview. I kind of felt sorry for Kentaro looking for a way to be diplomatic when asked about the "competition" from the other top fish in the show, but Danny was very insightful and honest in his assessment.
"Good enough for Europe"...
"Good enough for the Americans"
Sounds a lot alike doesn't it...

I agree 100%

to match peapol sell some koi has a much too elevated price for a middle quality, I sincerely think that the problem is identical in Europe as in USA

what Danny tried to make, it is to show in Europe what is indeed the quality, he is not the only one, the winner of the All japan koi show makes the same thing in USA, it is with people as her that we are going to progress, I think that it is a very good thing
But it remains long way

thanks for posting the link

It was classic kentaro I loved the way he broke out into laughter when asked how the competition was against his GC. I had the priviledge of working with him for close to 2 years
and his laughter was not one of arrogance but of genuine kneejerk reaction as if one had asked a racing fanatic to critique the difference between a corvette and a ford falcon station wagon. ( green in color no less) LOL

one thing I would have liked to have see asked was regarding the color food being fed....what was so special about it since most breeders I know insist NOT to feed color food but let the genetics they put into the fish develop naturally.

yes Kentaro Sakai is indeed someone very well

Food is special to the level composition in proteins but not special for the colors

The koi feeds with this food must nevertheless to be prepared for the koi show, therefore not of specific additive for the colors but well for the growth and the body
