I'm curious to hear any feedback as well as I'm also considering one of these for my big pond. Price is holding me back right now as I just had to replace my bead filter (winter kill). The only one I know that has one actually in use is the Batemans out of Ill. They love their unit. It's because of their recommendation that I'm considering one for myself.

The TT is fully functional re: de-nitrification -- and the falling water creates the foam which the FF/PS skims off.

Yes, they recommend pre-filtration to help avoid the obvious cleaning issues.

SteveC, flow rate on this larger unit is 10,000 l/hr. You guys not on the metric system do the math. It's made in Europe shipped to the only distributor in the USA, Purdin Koi in Baton Rouge, sold by a few dealers here.

The Clarity is NOTcheap but worth it imo if you want the best water. Retails for almost $2k here.

Don, i hope to set mine up soon but don't want it sitting next to the pond, the thing looks like a vacuum cleaner. I want to see how you're doing yours. Will you gravity feed it back to the pond?

This is my hesitation also. I guess you could build a sort of sump in the filter area and throw a Tee inline before the pump. Getting it dialed so it's not pulling too much or too little would be the trick, however as debris collects your flows would change throwing the whole thing out of wack...

A DIY would almost be better in that you could have a normal pipe fitting for the water return and stick the FF away from the pond....

Recommended flow is 10K lpm (or 2641 gph). Anthony recommended a 1/8 hp pump (dialed back with a ball valve ) to achieve that. The final 'test' of whether the flow is proper is by measuring the depth of the water in the foam cup.

As for your question about pond size/stocking densities, I don't have anything in writing. I do know that in talking with Anthony at the ZNA SoCal show, he recommended the CL-10 for my size pond (6K gallons).

And a damn fine looking vacuum cleaner it is!

Mine will be a pond side install and gravity fed back to the pond (it might need a short spillway to reach?).
