GC? You guys are too funny.

The koi budget this year has gone towards buying a couple of small koi (8"-15") and upgrading the pond by purchasing and installing:

Activated carbon filtration
Water softener
Clarity Unit (TT/FF/PS)
Cetus Pond Sieve

It`s kind of funny, but I`m thinking of NOT buying koi this year. And putting the money into my pond. Even though my pond was just completed in September of 2007.I feel upgrades coming on. For what I would spend on a nice Nisai.I can do amazing things in my little 4000 gl. koi pond. I`m still trying to decide...........the REALLY nice Kohaku OR the pond upgrades

If you're already not happy with your pond/filtration, wait on the fish and improve the system. That way, when you get that special fish, it will appreciate the work you did to make a happy home for it. That's what I plan on doing this year as well. Too much fish load and not enough filter!!

Don, how is the protein skimmer doing?

I built the other one using water and I can't get it to work at all. I'm thinking about building the one you have using air.
