| Saturday: Install Clarity on existing circuit (no niche skimmer, 1/4 hp Artesian PP pump, Ultima 6K filter) by T'ing in a line before the pond return and installing ball valves to control flow. Paint SC walls with black rubberized paint. Continue stone work. With the bottom drains having been plugged for 5 days, there's plenty of DOCs to feed the Clarity. After tinkering with the Clarity unit for a bit, we got it foaming like a dog with rabies. The fish love the new spillway. ![]() . ![]() . ![]() . ![]() . ![]() . ![]() . ![]() .

| Thank you so much for your pictures and description of the Clarity foam factionator. I have two CL-10s which I will be installing in the coming weeks. When you say you tinkered with them a bit, what "tinkering" was needed? I imagine it had something to do with the angle that the unit was set.... Thanks again. Yup. As best as I can remember (and put into words), starting with the leveled platform it was easy to put a level across the foam compartment and use the twin front set screws (screwed almost completely in) to get the unit dead level side to side. With the water running, I used the single rear set screw to raise the unit's rear until the water entering the foam chamber was no longer touching that straight edge. Then I lowered the rear of the unit until the entering water was just being depressed by the straight edge (I guess that's the 1-2 mm the booklet talks about). At that point it began foaming pretty good. I never paid any attention to measuring the depth of the water on the exiting edge. Hope that helps. | |

| Monday:Install adjustable overflow standpipe with check valve. Prepare standpipes for bottom drains. Cut and remove temporary water uptake from pond; connect Cetus Pond Sieve to suction line. Remove air bladders and reset DIY drain covers. Adjust & balance the height of the two no niche skimmers. Fill the SC, fire up the Cetus and watch the debris stack up. Finish stone work. Have lunch. What a fun wonderful week. These upgrades should go a long way towards improving water quality. . ![]() . ![]() . ![]() . ![]() . ![]() . ![]() . ![]() . ![]() . ![]() . |
