I can post photos!!!

Here is the champion Sanke I mentioned above. Note how little Hi is on her right side. As tosai, she would have looked 'unbalanced'... too much shiro. I don't think 'drop dead gorgeous' is an overstatement.

excellent example. And yes, for my untrained eye, I would have passed on this koi. I wonder if the sumi was visible deep down as tosai...

I really appreciate the well thought out explanation with regards to the breeders selecting what will stay, what will go, etc. I think sometimes I get too wrapped up in the subtle elegance of koi keeping and forget its a huge industry, feeding a lot families.
