At that size , you will only be getting a guess , hick you can do that .

That's a Quality Koi fish in the 555 event , isn't it ?

If so , I think they try hard to have all females , but not 100% sure .

it is a koi fromm the 555 event....it looks like a male to me though since colors are already developed. I am not sure about showa developement though.

This is a tosai-nothing has "developed" YET! What you are seeing is some infant sumi which should change between now and the end of summer. Then the fun begins. Seeing what's really going to be there. This fish has a very heavy sumi pattern now. I doubt you will see this pattern stay on this fish. If Matt is using one of Sakai's new Magoi bloodline showa it might be a different story, but I'm not sure that is the case with this one. Don't be misled into stereotyping koi and thinking, because the color is all up it must be a male. This fish does not "feel/look" male to me but the photo is not very good and a closer/cleaner pic might help. As was said before, Matt tries his best to include only females in the 555 fish. But, that's what the insurance is for, right?
