Ingrid, unless I'm mistaken, Yamato has only been spawned once - maybe twice now, 2006 and 2007?, too early to state that she is a good bloodline?

The results of her off spring are somewhat unknown?

I see where you indicated the line would be. From the tone i pick up from you, that will always worry you till you find out what happens and then if it's not good you'll be disappointed. Maybe the safer bet is the right move now especially in light of what mark has been able to add about the breeder's oyagoi...

This has been fun so I'm sure happy you posted

Erns, I agree with others' assessment that koi #1 has a better nisai conformation but beni is too finished whereas koi #2 does not have a better conformation but beni is soft and not finished. I would be happy with any of these two koi, however, my experience (or lack thereof), has been that if you don't feel comfortable then don't make the purchase. Especially when it's a big purchase for a nisai. I am also concerned that if they have been in a UK dealer's small sell tank that their growth may be affected. Just my opinion. Regardless of what decision you make, please keep us posted on their development.

You're right Mark, but I think I'm not complete in my answer, I meant to say Yamato is from the Sakura/Rose bloodline and that is surely a good bloodline..My dealer told me that he has seen a lot of beautiful nisai offspring of Yamato in Japan...but you'r right thats not saying a lot of their devolleping in the future...thats still a question..

But it is always a gamble to buy a nisai in that price range...but if you know things in advance, you loose the exciting bit of the koi hobby...

Erns good luck with your picking..

Ingrid
