Many products we use to control parasites are simply not made or recommended for use on our fish. It's the nature of our hobby I'm afraid. So when something goes wrong, we really can't do the blame game too much.

That's why I'm confused. I Prazied my 13,000 g pond 2 weeks ago and no problems. So am I right to think that it's the source/manufacturer of the prazi.

That is the only conclusion I can come to that makes any sense at all. I spoke with my dealer today, explained the symptions. He jumped right in and said that these symptions are only seen with something toxic or an over dose. Since I measured this out using a gram scale and I KNOW I DIDN'T OVERDOSE, one of two things are happening. Eighter the source is through China or the product is full strength which would constitute an over dose.

At any event, we will move forward and try to recover. At least the newest Kohaku that we got from Kevin was never in the big tank....still in the Q-tank. Thankfully I just didn't get around to moving her over to the main tank. Boy she is looking good!! You should see how the whites and her skin are now. She is stunning. We so appreciate her now. Hopefully we can grow her out to be a big mature girl.

Tonight all the fish are looking really good and recovering well. Still watchin one that is a bit sluggish, but it appears that she is coming around as well. I think we are past burying fish.

Hi Sue, so sorry for your lost, hope you will recover and move on.

Update on the fish after superverm about 1 weeks ago, anyhow all the fish seems to be recovering well, they are begaining to eat and be more active, the two sicker fish are also doing a lot better, basically was just keep doing water change for the past weeks, the flashing stop. hopefully no long term effects as far as gill or organ damage down the road.

Sorry Sue.

I thought prazi powder was already full strength. No? They say you can double dose prazi without ill effect.

Hi Steve,
I had a talk with Tom Holder of Koi Kennel about powder form prazi. He was very specific when he said It is a substance and not a chemical that is why it is safe to use with other treatments. If this is not correct I sure would like to know . Post info on this if anyone has looked it up. I do know how it works on dogs and fish.
Best wishes and keep up the good work,
Louie

? Every substance is a chemical, so the context of Holder's comment is needed for it to make sense.

Tom might have meant that prazi is a substance that has as its active ingredient the chemical praziquantel. It would also include fillers.

Sue...you said that you had used an "off label" prazi in treating your pond. Did you mean that you were using a prazi product other that Prazi Pond?
