LOL, I'd love to be able to claim that I staked out the pond for hours upon end, alas I didn't.

I passed the pond and saw the Yamabuki from a distance. When I got closer several were 'flipping'.

Within a couple of minutes I'd got lucky and got a 'fun' shot of a flipper.

As with any 'action' photography, inlcuding taking Koi in show vats, it's about predicting what they are about to do.

I return to the UK for a couple of weeks in June, then return to Japan.
