Planned breeding successful!!!! SHOWA!!!

This is my second year breeding koi at home. This is the pair I used. The female is on the right..20 inches from Isa. The Male on the left is 18 inches fromTakahashi.
I checked them this morning to find they spawned in my 440gal pool...on spawning brushes. I thought they were finished. I moved them to my 1200 gal pool so they would not eat the eggs. They decided to continue spawning...and have been going at it all day!!! I didn't even need to add ******!!! I'll get some pics up soon....hopefully some nice fry to cull!!!

Well...so far, I have eggs!!! Step one is a success. Now for step two...hatching fry!!
I read an interview with Omosako..he stated his female breeder took weeks, even months to drop her eggs. Mine took 1 day....success!!!

Good luck with them......
I throw away a 5 gal bucket of eggs every year.
Probably within 2 weeks I will move them in with some mops to a seperate QT tank
and let them lay, or if they start chasing and pushin each other around.
