Question about Dolphin Hydro Vortex

Has anyone used this?

Dolphin Hydro Vortex™ Backwashable, Easy to Clean Waterfall Filter by Russell Watergardens.

I am thinking about buying the Dolphin Hydro Vortex™
4,000 Gallon Filter with HydroFlush™ Backwash System.

Is this a good vortex filter or are wthere better ones out there?
Here is my pond specs,

4,500 gallons one bottom drain which feeds into a savio leaf trap with two 57 watt uv lights which feeds into my waterfall which is full of filter media. I have 10 fish ranging from 6 inch to a foot and a half. What I want to move away from is cleaning out the filter in the savio leaf trap. I really do not have much room around the pond for an inground vortex filter. I will replace my current waterfall system with this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello 6-fan69 . . .

Sounds like you might be trying to raise koi with a water gardening filtration system which isn't designed to process all the waste koi produce. And a flushable waterfall filter fed through a skimmer won't solve your problems. Sorry.

If you'd like, I can outline a basic koi pond filtration system for you?

No I am really just trying to instal a vortex filter in the smallest area I can. My pond is working fine I would like to just get rid of the solids more effeciantly. I have had my pond for three years without a problem. I have a ton of bio material a good leaf trap with bottom drain. I would like to take the filter mat out of the savio and use a vortex which is easer to clean and would trap more solids.
