Yamabuki loosing color

Hello Everyone,
Is it possible for a yamabuki to loose color? I gave away my yamabuki last year after the Gardena show. She is 5 years old now and still very good.

I guess anything can and will loose it's color.

How's the Hikari on the Ogon? Did it go from a bright yellow to a cream color?

Is this the Ogon, Larry got?

Tony,
No she's doing fine. Neighbor here called me up and asked me what happened to her pet. Her yamabuki lost the yellow according to her. They feed colored food according to her.

Maybe poor water condition? Maybe the ogon is of poor quality....

I have heard of ogon gaining orange spots from feeding color up food, but never losing color.

Is a picture worth a thousand words? Last year on the left...current on the right. My water is ridiculously soft, so I've blamed it on that. I purchased a small one with very deep yellow to grow out this year. I am interested in seeing if it lightens like this one...or gets closer to orange.
