Microscope recommendation

I did a title search for "microscope" and had only 3 hits, so I thought I would post this thread to ask if there are any microscopes out there that any of you would recommend. I tried searching for microscopes on the internet but had too many hits. I am just looking for something that's universal and easy to use. Nothing fancy, just a scope that will work and serve its purpose. I just want to get one so I can practice scraping and viewing the scrapes under the microscope. Any recommendation is appreciated and I thank you in advance for your guys' help.

Hey Lam,

Mike has a good one there. I recently bought this one. Seems to work great. I really like the rechargeable battery, and the led light it uses doesn't get hot.

Don't know how fancy you want to go, but this one was shipped fast, and came with a camera that hooks up to your computer via USB. Sample slides, 50 slides, and cover slips as well.

i was told by one of the hobbyist at our club that at the Discovery store, sells microscope that will serve the purpose, nothing fancy, i think he said prices were about $100. Check it out.

I got mine from our Biology class that had some old scope that they wanted to get rid, for $50 this was 10 years ago, back then was not into koi yet, luckly kept the microscope around love it. have to have it, to make proper diagnose. hope you find one Lam.

Whatever you get try to get a binocular microscope unless you have one eye and make sure you get a mechanical stage.

I recently got one from Amscope. It's a top of the line trinocular from them for $276, brand spanking new. It has the works w/ the mechanical stage, one knob coarse & fine focusing, etc etc. You can see the specs of the exact one here.

A binocular can be had for about $200.

PM me & I'll tell you how to get it at that price.
