Your comments on tosai

Nagashima tosai showa and Danichi kohaku: Please tell me what you think of the two showa in the first photo and the kohaku in the second. Looking for future show koi.

Pattern on the kohaku seems ok but I would need a decent close up pic to say anything else.

Pics on the showa are no good. Showa are hard enough to call from a good pic so these are just impossible. Sorry.

Is the Showa at 11 o'clock in the bowl with the Kohaku from Dainichi? (If so, I'd sure like to see a close-up of it.)

BTW, when somebody says they are looking for a future show fish, I have the idea that they want to be competitive for a major award in a larger size. It can be a lot easier to see a fish as likely competitive in a small or mid-size range. Only rarely is a photo so good that a 'future show fish' (i.e., competitive in larger size) recommendation can be made. I think you should give more weight to your dealer's recommendation between the three. But, if any of these are likely to be competitive for a major award in a larger size (even at any of the significant U.S. shows), they will be costly.

These photo's can be enlarged, how do I do that? Yes, Kevin at Genki suggested I post these two photo's since I was interested in these two tosai. These are the only photo's he had. I post these to hear from those expert out there who pick tosai from photo's and know the bloodlines and what to expect. I suspect the Kohaku has a very long way to go to clean itself up. The beni is blurred, yet the koi is young. Just want to make sure they will clean up and learn more about what to look for at this age.
Yes, Mike the showa at 11 o'clock.

bob,
you should have bet on Momotaros auction instead of looking at either koi. For what these 2 will set you back, you are likely to get a very good momo.

I would go with one of the Showas in with the Kohaku.

You go with what they are producing best right now and that is Showa!!
