I don't know how dealers decide which breeders' koi they want to purchase or whether breeders decide on which dealers they want to sell their koi to, all as I know is I think that it's a good thing that Kevin is starting to stock Matsunosuke koi.

Which one owns the orignal matsunosuke line? Who bred the 100 cm GC?

The correct breeder of the 101cm Sanke is Toshio Sakai. The person who best personifies the Matsunosuke bloodline is Toshio Sakai....

to answer your questions

technically Yamamatsu owns the original line as the older brother inherited the family business with the passing of their father. Still Toshio had access to that bloodline to work with.

Toshio was the breeder of the GC of which you speak.

If your questions were to prove a point you may also wish to state that Toshio initiated the magoi bloodline cross in to his bloodline and that he alone developed the marusome sumi and beni koi that have been on the market the last 3 years as also uniquely his accomplishment.

It does not negate the work that his older brother and his son have accomplished working with the initial bloodline established by their father. Not the same as the direction Toshio has taken but still an excellence in it's own right.

I am sure Kevin is building a great relationship to bring Matsunosuke to Bay Area hobbyist and those around the country...Why not have one of the best eyes in the US to select the best for you.

Hi Dick, has Toshio explain what lines he has crossed to develop his new marusome sumi and marusome beni?
