The weird weather here in California.

It's funny how the weather can swing so crazy in the last 2-3 weeks. Last week here in NorCal we had 3 days straight of 100+ degree days, then down to the 70's for the last couple of days. Then yesterday I was watching the news and saw a torando and hale hit a suburb in LA....Nancy M said it was raining cats and dogs where she was.......Then grass fires here in there all round the state....I guess this is the only state where you can actually see the different micro climates at work.

The sky is black, and it is only 56, only a few days ago it was 100 and my air conditioner was running. We had hale, thunder and lightening last night.

Looks like earth quake weather......

....No, Tony, Ca is not the only state. Check out Colorado the last week. In Granby and other mountain towns(NC mtns.) they have had lots of snow, 15 mins N of Denver yesterday was the huge tornado, lots of rain and baseball sized hail.. and here in So central Colorado, we have had 98degrees two days ago, this morning it was 45 degrees (normal for overnight)- very dry - with NO rain for 2 months! And this wind has got to stop. (Please) And, they are talking flooding from all the mountain snow melt coming soon as higher temps stabilize.
I think it is strange weather all over, huh?

It's been a long time since I've heard that expression, Nancy. But it sure does seem that way. Up here in the far north (CA) we had 104-106 degree weather for a few days and now the 70's. Now add some locusts to this equation (haven't seen them here in years) and Pelicans which I also haven't sighted here in a decade or more, and I really wonder about what's happening with Nature that's changing our seasons and wildlife.

It's a strange year....

It's been really windy here too, I spent all of Wednesday watering down all the plastic pots we had bamboo in that were blowing over. Looks like I will be repotting these bamboo in wine barrels this weekend.

Tony and anyone else in the south bay area,

Did you all smell the smoke from the fire in the Santa Cruz Mountains this morning?
Any koi folk up that way, near Summit Rd and Mt. Madonna park?

I hope they all are OK up there.

I think Keokoi "Joe" is up that way. Hope all are safe and well, in the fire areas.

In Florida, we just have drought, brush fires, unusual dry winds and forecasts of a busy hurricane season ahead. But, the pond temp is at 78F, the koi are thriving and there is a chance of rain over the next couple of days. Be nice to no longer have the smell of smoke in the air.
