Wink Little Ones

Hi, Only about 150 left. It seems like all I do is feed and monitor water quality. No cannibalism as of yet. I found a couple if deformed ones now that they are getting large enough to see well. They will get a good meal and a clove oil bath. Lori

The parents of mass spawn.

Hi, Here are the lists of parents and the breeders.
Males, 4 Taisho snake, 1 Shiro, 1 Koromo, 1 Kohaku.
Females, 2 Kohaku, 4 Shiros, 4 Showas, 1 Ai Goromo 1 Ginga.

Breeders are: Sekko, Jimbel, Isa, Sakazume.

Any Idea what the fry could be?
The smaller koi are I know who the mother is. The Ginga they are the only metallic's I have and six of eight are Gin Rin. I found them in the top tier of the pond two years ago. They made it through the filter. I still need to find them homes. Lori

Since there are so many Sanke males and so many Utsuri/Showa females, I think I'd have culled for Showa by keeping only black fry after a few days. (Easier said than done!) At this point, it may be better to aim for Sanke. The genetic mix is capable of producing a one-off of just about anything.

BTW, the little ones are looking healthy and strong. Lots of work to get this far.
