Power out

Anyone else in the mid-atlantic area still sitting in the dark like me? One of these days I'll have to get a generator big enough to run more then just the ponds .

No power outages yet....but we are going to hit 100° today and it's early june!! This is terrible. and my club's pond tour is Saturday. I bet the high temperatures will really affect attendance. What a shame too...the pond owners have worked so hard sprucing up their ponds and yards.

I hope you get your power back on soon!

Here in Arkansas we were out from 29 hours, Sunday into Monday. Didn't have a generator - we were at Lowes at 7:00 a.m. Monday morning to get one - all we ran was the pond, two reef tanks and one refrig. I have my priorities clearly in order...

It was miserable - I sure hope you get power restored quicker than we did!

Jim, I can relate...my generator runs the ponds, one light bulb and the TV in the house only.

Good luck hope things get back to normal here soon...

Lynda, sorry to hear about your storms in the area. I always see the recent weather maps putting bad weather in a strip right across N. Ak and So Missouri. Hang in there!

As to us, well it has been very dry for 3 months, and 95 degrees recently, but last night it got downright cold and at 5:30 this morning it was thundering and hailing and 50 degrees! Not much large hail, just pea sized for about 10 mins. I always watch the pond carefully - it was funny, when the hail hit the water, the koi started trying to bite em. They were about the size of a hi silk pellet, after all, so I can see why.

Did you cheer when the power came back, Jim? When it finally was restored in our neighborhood you could hear the "yahoos and yippees" along the entire street - must've been loud, since most of the houses are at least an acre apart!

Today my pond temperature went above 80F for first time this summer. The koi are eating less.

Glad to hear your power was finally restored Jim. We haven't had that problem here in NorCal but we sure could use some warmer weather. Upper 60s and low 70s during the day and low 50s at night. Ponds are nowhere near 70!
