Nancy, thank you for posting the files. BTW, my posting this information was just to get the word out. I, in no way, had anything to do with this program, nor did I intend to imply that. I do apologize if I did.

I never thought you implyed that, I an sorry if my post sounded that way. I just remembered that Rob had told us all about it a couple months ago, and was very pleasently delighted that they where able to get it up and running so quickly.

It is weird that when the samples are submitted they want to know if the fish have been tested by another lab and what the results were. If they were comfortable with their methods that would be irrelevant.

Russ, I posted this 6 days ago under the Nazomi show thread ( Post #18). Please try and keep up? JR

Here Grant, this is who zna is currently recommending :

UC Davis is happy to offer laboratory validated KHV testing using both
Taq-man PCR for viral genomic DNA($40 per sample for 1-19; $36 per
sample for 20+) and a KHV Elisa to detect fish antibodies to the virus
($25 ea for 1-19 samples; 20+ samples@ $22 each; + $30 veterinary
consultant fee per batch of samples). Other molecular and diagnostic
tests are available upon request for KHV and other fish related
pathogens.

You can contact the ZNA blog for additional information. I'll put it by the end of the weekend. JR

Not at all Steve! This group IS ground zero for KHV reseach. These are the folks who identified the Myron Kibus samples from the MAKC Long Island NY chapter show and vendor fair. This event is THE event where the mystery disease was finally identified after rambling around Israeli shipments, British outbreak pockets and Taiwanese shipments.

In fact, Scott Weber is in possession of probably the largest sample collection of KHV outbreaks anywhere. This guy is very good and very well established in this epidemic's history ( head Veterinarian for Camdam Aquarium and Boston's aquarium) . Of course, this is also the home of the researcher who is credited with having done more studies on this disease than anyone at this point- Ron Hedrick. He was the one who identified the virus that Kibus collected.
That question is a data point question.

So Rob actually posted this first? Then JR posted it? And Russ actually came in third?!

Should we sticky this--so nobody makes the mistake of posting it yet again?
