New Kohaku from SJKoi

I have been drooling over this fish all week while she was on Ebay, but tonight she is mine. I hope I didn't beat out any of my Koi-Bito friends, but I had to have her. I have high hopes for this girl. She is 13" long. Richard is doing some nice stuff!! Opinions are welcome!

Good enough for JR's dollar? Who knows....only time will tell. She WILL show though, and hopefully will win big some day. She certainly has the pattern and body for it! I can't wait to see her in person.

Glad to hear you plan to show her. It is always nice to see a Domestic breeder do well in shows, and Richard's fish are definitely beginning to make a mark now that they're getting some show exposure. I'd tell you everything I like about this one, but I'm pretty sure you already have that list burned into your eye sockets Take good care of her
PS... the best thing about Richards fish is the fact that we haven't seen the best ones yet...

You are so right! I'd love to get a peek at Richard's "future breeder" pond....all the fish he decided were just too good to leave. If this kohaku is any indication of the direction he is going with his breeding program, he is definitely headed the right way.

Beni is nice and even, and like always with those SJKoi, not too dark at this young age. From what I hear, his kohaku have a nice history of consistent development over the years. VERY nice pick. I may have to jump in on one of those ebay bids for his fish someday.

Are you confident it is a female?

Congrats, I saw that one on eBay and hoped it would go to a good keeper.
