i have always been confused with the word for red. I know we all use "hi", but when do u use aka or beni? can anyone explain the difference between and usages of these words for the color red? |

Shiroji means white ground, as opposed to 'white' which is actually just 'shiro'.
Tosai is a Koi in it's first year, as opposed to being a 1 year old Koi, nisai in it's second year, etc, etc.
Whilst hi, aka and beni all mean red in Japanese, they are actually different shades of red, beni being a deep crimson red, hi an orangey red.
