I guess HAH is rubbing off?

It would seem that the only site that attempts to legitimize our Hot Aired friend, has learned a few things from him.

Please see the attachment.

My response. Dear Dave, how uncharacteristic of you to take a statement, twist it to suit yourself, then ring the warning bell to all your readers that the EPA is looking to run them out of business. Please tell us how?

What the EPA has done is to create a set of standards for new or rebuilt homes they call WATER SENSE homes. These homes are designed to minimize water usage in many different ways. And yes, a water garden or pond is not a functional use of water. It is decorative. Pure and simple. They are not trying to prohibit you from building a pond or water feature. They are trying to suggest ways to save un-need water from being used.

IF you will take the time to read further into the EPA's own website you will find this as one of the suggestions:
  • Do not install or use ornamental water features unless they recycle the water. Use signs to show the public that water is recycled. Do not operate during a drought.
These are suggestions they have for conserving water, not legislation that threatens your business. This is to qualify your home as a water sense home, nothing more.

Fact is, every pond that I know of has water that is recycled, it is over and over again. The only water that is ever added is to replace evaporation or flushes to the system.

No where in the entire site or article does it ever say they are wanting to stop, or even regulate water garden or pond building.

So please, learn to read. Then interpret the results.

I was never allowed to post over there. I think I was blackballed on day one.

Unfortunately, they talked me into supporting their cause at a pondbuilding in GA at a certain vet's property. Funny thing about that pond, a year later, and it still is not finished.

All sorts of excuses as to why. They had all the manpower and time to finish it, but didnt. But yet the powers that be, the ones that set the bar for the other contractors to jump over, dont see anything wrong with that.

But let a pissed off customer (or even another pond builder that hates your guts) even alledge any problems with an install, and they will keep you from being a "certified installer"

Sorry, I dont want someone like that in a position to influence my business one way or another.
