Bakersfield Pond featured in Koi USA

In the current issue of Koi USA, Roger & Ginger Spradlin's pond is featured, there new pond is a little over 38,000 gallons. They also have a 2000 Gallon QT pond and an 800 Gallon Hospital tank.

why did the local government have a canary over the pond....had they never seen a REAL koi pond before? Glad it all worked out!!!!

The city did not shut the job down due to the pond it was due to the filtration. They had never seen a filter pit that was 28 foot long by 5 foot wide and 8 foot deep. Picture number 4,7,8, are the biological filters.

I know people who've never seen a POND as big as that filter pit

Put a pond just like that on my wishlist and showed my wife yesterday and she just about had a cow! Maybe I can have a pond like that in my next life. Very impressive!!!!! Now I either have to win the lottery or rob a bank.............

Kristine, I think there are 14 J-Mat chambers, 2 settlement chambers and 1 sump. I do remember that he has $10,000 in Jmatt alone
