Take a better photo of the Kohaku when you get her . She seems alittle front heavy (Thick) in the photo .

Showa screams Baby GC .

I saw that too troy, but I think it's the angle of the koi. I think it is angled upwards, and based on the angle of the flash, I think this is what we are seeing.

They all look very nice
The showa is ready for show now......It probably won't hold the strong
sumi and hi for future. Might be at its best this year.

Good Luck with them

Matsunosuke implies Sakai but could also be any of a number of other breeders as most are using Matsunosuke in their breeding. Who was the breeder?

Kohaku - Nice big head and looks to have strong bone structure. Great growth potential.

Showa - Finished, great for show...maybe even BGC.

Goshiki - Will need some time to develop, but overall nice fish.

The breeder of the kohaku is Yamamatsu koi farm. Although the showa looks very finshed, I am not overly worried. My pond water is very soft..but is a black liner pond(which I believe helps sumi). I have several showa..and all have had very stable sumi. No big changes either way. Sumi goes crazy with kumonryu and matsubawake in my pond. Even a few kujaku and asagi went dark on me. But, so far..showa seems very stable in this pond. Time will tell...but with my water, I am confident. My old pond...forget it...sumi came up like crazy. This would be a black koi in a year!! I am really interested to see how dark the goshiki will get.

I could tell the kohaku's beni was not Toshio's new Marusome.

I think your Yammatsu Kohaku must have something wrong, other than a little pattern imperfection.... but I'm not seeing it. It will be interesting to see the development.
