Looking for a particular book

Hi all,

I am quite new in the Koi world, but i will visit Japan soon. I have been told there is a book which contains all the Koi Breeders of Japan. I am really looking for this book, since I want to visit some famous breeders.

Can anyone tell me what this book is called?

Not positive of the name, but I am familiar with the book you are speaking of. It lists all the breeders. It also includes sketchy road maps that may be difficult to use right now as the roads have possibly changed since being printed due to weather conditions. While some of us were at the All Japan Show in January, my friend bought a new one for this coming year and unfortunately it got left, with some other items, in a bag on the train back to the hotel. They have one that is a couple of years old and still has all the breeders listed but may include some that are no longer around due to the earthquake. I believe you possibly can buy it in Ojiya City at the koi history museum. Otherwise, you might contact your agent in Japan and ask him to pick one up for you before you arrive.

I have been told it would be "Nishikigoi no Puro no All Guide" Can you confirm this? I will ask someone to buy it for me. Did your friend get his in Niigata?

I have this book, it is the breeders bible. It has a blue cover, on the front it is writen in Japanese then in English it says Nishikigoi Guide. In this book, it breaks down all the breeders by location. and has maps. You can purchase it at the pond supply store in Ojiya city. I think we paid around $15 US dollars.

Nancy is correct... Its a little blue book we call the bible.. it loks liek a bible as well. Well maybe for koi breeders..

The book is available in Romanji (english) type. I forget what I paid for mine but here is a Picture of what it looks like...

thanks a lot for all your help. It has been very useful! I finally got myself one through an acquaintance in Tokyo, who used to work in Niigata!!! I also found it at Miyakoya Shouten in Niigata, next to Ojiya station.
