| males dont have milt Hi everybody, my female is ready to spawn so i took out my six best males to pick three of them later and hand strip them into separate bowls to have three different variaties and also to find out which of them has the best offspring. It turned out that five out of six dont have any milt. The last year a started spawning on 3/25 and all were ok. I dont want to use hormone so the other option would be to keep them separated and feed rich protein diet for meaby three weeks ?, but then i dont know if the female would wait so long because she is like a balloon. My pond is indoor with steady temp. 70 F ( 21 C) . I am wondering why the males are not ready - could be a virus? they all look healthy and were on good diet all year around. Any suggestions would be appriciated, Peter |
