My first pic developed the yellow/orange spots last year. They lasted a couple of months and disappeared just as fast as they appeared.

Troy, you may be right but the sumi was solid.

Maybe you have a Kage Shiro .
and that goes back to this question I had ....

But that was a picture when she was in the garage, only received about an hours worth of sunlight a day.
Now out in the pond it almost overnight looks like it does...........

    I guess time will tell

Maybe one of the Shiro muji bunch will chime in and see if this was a precursor to going muji............

Well I can't tell you about one going muji, but I can see yours doing the same thing 51 did during a warm water growth spurt... To say the least it was a temporary condition Blaker 'n Coaly's Ass within a month

Well going back and revisiting the thread, and talking to one of my most trusted mentors.

I think it's just the heat. Last aug. is when she looked like this also..........I thought it was lack of sunlight, but now I guess it's the Texas heat............
But I do not think I can get big enough ice block into the pond to have the sumi come back up...................

    Hoping for an Alberta clipper....early.

51 is down just a little bit right now and that laquer black bekko is nearly muji right now... hot weather and growth seem to really do it to some of 'em every time, but when it comes back up right
