Pick # 69 Fish # 107 and Pick # 84 Fish # 136 at ~ 12/25/07

2nd set of pictures after ~ 2 weeks in our q tank (liner, not concrete) on 2/16/08. I would have thought might see that kinda sumi change after time in a concrete pond.

sounds like alot of people are seeing big changes already in their shiro's. Add us to that list. I already suspected our water would be good for sumi development by the shiro utsuri and showa's in the main pond for the last few months. Short term result with these two are that the sumi pattern is much heavier already on both koi. Pictures if I can get a clear one this weekend.....

Clearer is Better. It is wonderful to begin seeing the slow transformations on these babies isn't it? The tiny hints of shiro on our dark headed baby have begun to assert themselves exactly as I had hoped. I guess I'll have to post some "clearer" pix pretty soon myself

updated photos.... just barely able to see the change in ~ 2 weeks They really did look like the original photos when received. Both koi now have heavy motoguro, and koi 2 is almost all black wonder what 2 more weeks will bring, not to mention what a year will bring....

I moved the pictures to above post so they could be next to the original posted pix and and the changes viewed easier.

Sorry to hear about 107. It seems the mortality rate is no respecter of persons.

136 is going to be a real study. It looks like it will keep you waiting and guessing for a very long time before the pattern finally says "here I am". Decent growth and the body conformation seems very uniform. No bottle necked tail tube on this one for sure.
