Showa too!

I'm very fond of your SU. I picked out a couple of Shows too, for growing out with my SU's, what a coincidence! The Showa sure has a great pattern on the head! Very unique if I do say so myself.

I picked Showa to grow out with my SU's because of the unpredictable SUMI! One of my showas as a neat little red circle on near the mouth but nothing as interesting as your head pattern. I'm contemplating showing the progress of my showa too, but may start a different thread for her in the future. I'll have my eye on you and your girls. I would love to see the progression of your Showa too.

Respectfully,

hey pond digger... come my way - I could use a hand! You are sure going full speed with this grow out!

The kids had a feast of worms. At least 20 of them.

Not the best photo but Id like to have some progress photos. Bandit appears to be lightening up quite a bit.

The big kids have been moved outside and Bandit has the entire 1600 gallon QT to him/herself with 3 of his/her small budies. They feast on shrimp & pellets, but only when Im not looking. Its a bit large for them & they are shy. I think they miss the bigguns and the security hey provided.

Bandit is still alive and well. Black has lightened considerably, but she is indoors with no direct sun. I dont expect too much with the baby sumi anyways. (My showa's black is still like ink - in the same tank for the same time period.)

Updates

Still indoors with no natural light - not too shabby

Not much growth- which is on this individual fish only. The showa I got at the same time is nearly 10" or 11" already. I would have bowled it but it was hard enough to get bandit

Nice Photos

You made some nice photos. Sorry I don't know that much about judging Koi, either, but they are very pretty. Apparently choosing intense colors is one of the goals? Does sunlight bring out the colors? See... I know nothing. YET! I am here to learn, though.

I am in Northern California too. Hello, neighbor!
