Pond Coping

The Coping was my biggest blank all along the way! I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do..............

Here is what was suggested by one of my boys! At first I thought NO WAY! But I'm sure happy with how it turned out!

1 1/2" PVC Flex Pipe sliced, spread and popped onto the rail! Nice and tight! Easy to cut clean the excess liner and underlayment. If a fish should jump into it they won't get cut. I couldn't be happier!

FInished Koi Pond

Here is my Shiro Grow Out pond finished in the nick of time! I will pick up my girls on Super Bowl Sunday!

I will stretch a net over the pond to keep in any of the girls that consider jumping! I still need to do some grading around the pond and do something surrounding the waterfall to make it nice to look at. Toss some plants around the feature and such but then again the fish will be the primary focus right!

Respectfully,

The Pond Digger

Nice job, Eric! I could use 6 of those ponds...

What material did you use for the sides? Looks like heavy stiff PVC....

Side Panels & The Pick Up

Thanks everyone for your feedback.

Marie,

The side panels are 5/16" ABS panels and are surprisingly bendable. It's the round shape that gives the feature strength. After looking at the pictures, I think I'll paint the posts black after the rains subside.

I'm headed to Mystic Koi in an hour or so to pick up my Shiro's. I'm worried about getting quality photographs of the koi today because of the weather. Rainy! No sun! Heavy cloud coverage. I might have to set up some lights for the photo shoot.

Oh cool! Can't wait to see your new babies! Get some good shots before you put them in that new Pond, Digger. I'll keep my promise...

Where do you find the ABS panels? I checked Home Depot (the only place within 40 miles) and they have never heard of them. *LOL* Offered me 40mil FPS panels as a substitute....
