    Larry,
I almost fell off my chair when Alfie called me an expert.

I'm glad you chimed in cause I really didn't have a clue.

Alfie, listen to what Larry has to say he's one of the most informed and knowledgeable members on this board. He gave you a good link, good start.
    Have fun and good luck.
    Jim

I was looking over the pond today (lamenting the end of summer) and snapped a few pictures for an update.
First let me apoligize for the poor quality, it's much harder to get the lighting right in the early morning.
As you remember the sumi on Koi #85 all but disappeared and although there is some hint of it lying deep with in, I wonder if it'll ever emerge.
    her she is tagging along

My second pick 129, aka Tux, seems to have recovered his suit (while not entirely he's well on his way).

Here he is swimming with the Ogata Showas.

    Hello Jim . . .

Having just finished JR's comments on the development of sumi (in another thread), I'm encouraged to think that your SU's black will come back -- and furthermore, that it might be female.

While I was rounding up the Showas for their update I took a couple of shots of the Shiros. I'm not getting the kind of growth that other's are, they came in at 11.5 for 85th pick

    and 10.25 for Tux, #129.

as you can see the Sumi has come back on Tux, but #85 continues to impersonate a Shiro Muji.

If you moved some of your pix to a different folder they may have lost the link too. Glad to see the sumi rebound on tux, but the other is gonna make you wait a while longer... Maybe a nice surprise come March

    Thanks Larry,
We shall see. I'm a little worried that I'm not going to be able to get them out of the outside pond and in. I've had so many setbacks, on the indoor rebuild, that they all may stay out for the winter.

    Bill,
I did a little organizing over there and it seems that when you move files around the links don't work anymore. I've repaired all of the links now.
BTW your fish look fantastic. besides the short answer, that they're in your care or Texas, what do you think you've done to get that kind of growth?

    Jim,

Yep iffin you change folders it will sure mess with things.......

Now to your next question..............my care (where's that fallin off my chair smiley)

I think the most important aspect was the water changes..........twice a week for about 65%.............making sure all the poo was removed........rinsed the media (with pond water).
Plus the Koi had to have some good genetics to go along with it......

Food, maybe.............. EA One Show (march to june) & Saki Hikari (june to sept) then back to EA one to get em ready for the show.........

I thought the whites were better with the EA One as apposed to the Saki.......then I used the bentonite that everyone says don't use.........

Lets see what winter brings...........and if I can finish the white elephant in the back yard......
