nice pick! i liked that one as i'm very partial to kindai showas. good luck!

oh, btw, you can change your stats to reflect how many years you have been buying show koi as any of your koi would beat mine to a pulp at a show.

Thankie you! I just couldn't take my eyes off of her. I hope she has as much presence in person as she does in that gawdawful pic!

Show koi? What a nice compliment! I show koi. To my friends and neighbors, and anyone that happens to walk on the property that I can suck into the ponds. I've never actually Shown koi. But I've been to a show once. No. Twice. (same one *L*) If I can keep 'em alive long enough and don't ruin them on my learning curve, maybe I'll show. Then, and only if my fish win sumpin', can I call myself a bona fide show koi buyer. Until then, I'm just a willing slave to my living jewels.

Her name...when I first saw #26 I thought that she "Danced to a Different Drummer." Hence Drummer....she looks too fat to dance. *LOL*

She's either going to be Q'd alone or with Gentle and Gimpy. Mikado is strong and ready to go back into the pond with the Pearls. I hate to do the mixing, but I may have no other choice because the rest of the tanks are full of ryukin, ranchu, ranchukin and pearlscale babies. Everybody spawned this spring!

Talking

Sitting here with my nose pressed up against the window waiting for FedEx to arrive. Mikado and Gentle went into the main pond a couple of days ago, and I've introduced "Shealee's Comet" to the QT with Gimpy. Shealee's Comet is a real gregarious Comet goldfish that'll make even the shyest fish hand tame in minutes, so she's a settling influence for the koi. Gimpy is a whole different fish now!

Pics to come soon....

Exciting day for you!

Take some pics for us.

When looking at the pics originally I saw your "Drummer" and thought "Tootsie Roll" because the beni on his shoulders/head looks like the wrapper to a tootsie roll...

Talking Guess Who's Here!

Drummer got here safe and sound around 11:50am. Curious and calm, she swam quietly around the bag after she was unpacked and paused occasionally to look up and check me out:

A whopping 10 1/2" in my 9" salad bowl...

She's vivid...the only word I can come up with for her colors, nice lustre--Drummer just glows!

I couldn't be any happier even if it were Christmas.

Thank you Nancy and Ken for this wonderful girl, the great packing job that saved me a little cash on shipping, and a great opening experience for the Eastern Nishikigoi/KB Ogata Showa Growout!
