Had the Fish Vet to my house Sunday to check out a fish that I thought might be getting an ulcer. It was but caught it in time, he gave her a antibiotic shot and said she should be fine. The funny part of this is this fish is no longer mine, so to speak, I was going to rehome her and a friend wanted her and I said OK I would keep her for a while because she is enlarging her pond. I don't think that is ever going to happen, the fish will be 30 in. before she takes her. But, we put her in the QT because it will be easier to catch her.

As long as we were dealing with the QT, I decided to move my Ogata grow-out Showa and a Dainichi Showa (Tosai) into my pond, they had been in the QT.

We pulled them to scrape and scope before they went into the pond. I took some pictures and measured the grow-out. She was 10 1/2 in. when I got her, she was 11 in. on 7/27. She is now living in a 5,000 gallon pond and loves all the room.

Here are a couple of pictures. A lot of you raved about the hi when you got your fish, don't know if you can tell from the picture but the hi has really changed on my fish, for the better.

Seems the posting of pics to this site is giving fits to everyone lately. Upload to Photobucket instead, then click on the mountain/sun icon above the dialog box here and paste in the url from Photobucket. Works the best for me...

Finally got the pictures posted in my original thread.

Let me know what you think, pro or con.

Maybe it is only me, that thinks there is a change in the little girl.

lovely, seems the sumi is going to take it's time. will be interesting to see what it does as it comes forward as there is only the littlest hint to where there may be some.

Meg and Mstreseed, thanks for your comments.

Yes she has her lipstick on straight. It only took me a minute to net and bowl her, but took me 3 hours to get the darn lipstick on.

I am very pleased with the growth and yes the sumi is taking its time coming up but I am not worried. These fish are still babies and have a lot of growing and changing to do.

I moved her into the QT for the pictures, easier to catch, but will be putting her back into the pond. It is fun watching them grow and change and I am looking forward already to next summer to see more changes.
