*** Dave is inside for the winter now and is in 1000 gals with his other buddies. Total of 5 fish. Karl is outside for the winter... will be interesting to see how they compare in the spring.

Well, they arrive today, got the sheet copied up here and will post photo's after they've been released to the pond.

Ok, all swimming around in the QT. I'm so impressed with their colour and size. Talk about a perfect example of a photo not doing any justice!!

    ...... and they're off!

Coupla better pics of Dave. He's a real superstar for the photo's. Stays more still than any fish I've ever had (even came up for a hello in the one shot). Such a poser......

What a sweetie Dave is! You know, that's a great personality to take to a show--it's called "presence." That endearing expression would suck anyone in....

    Few updated pictures...

Haven't had spectacular growth compared to alot of people... Feeding this summer was sporadic at best. Lots of time away. So for most of the summer they were getting fed 3-4 days per week at the most. We'll see what happens with regular feeding for Dave in nice warm water all winter...

Interesting, I notice a lot of kage sumi on Dave and Karl... I'm curious if the sumi is dropping off as I'd hoped? Or if it's just changing. It's not dropping in all areas, but definitely in some. We'll see what happens!

    Well, that's that I guess...

The beni hasn't seemed that stable to me, and poor little Karl, stuck outside all winter he didn't grow a bit. I've just started feeding 1 time per day for about a month. If I don't re-home them by then, we'll see what they do in the fall.

Great time and I think we all have learned here! For instance, I'm sure you can tell by the photo quality, the latest pics were taken with a DSLR camera... what a difference it makes.

Dave still has a beautiful face and a nice shape, but that is one sumi heavy tail end

    Thanks for the comments...

Yeah, appearance wise... he's a bit of a train wreck. But man has he got some big bone structure. Huge head. I was going to dump both of them but a part of me is tempted to hang onto Dave to see what happens with his growth...
