koi eating algae

I need some help in understanding my koi. I have a 7,000 gal pond about 2 month old with about 30 kois 16" to 28". Pond doing great and bottom algae growing out very fast. About a week ago my koi started eating all the bottom algae up at a very fast rate, now they are starting eating them of the walls. I know it's not harmful to them, but it's killing my skimmer with left over algae and I'm cleaning out my skimmer filter everyday. I have also increased my koi feeding to 4 to 5 times a day. Anyone have any ideas please let me know?

I believe fish eating algae is a good thing. Very good for there health, color, growth, etc.

The excess you have is not created by the fish eating. A new pond can produce a lot of algae for the first year and maybe the second. Cutting back on the feedings is suppose to help, but who wants to do that. Just do like a lot of us and dip it out, clean the skimmers and the filters. In a couple of years you'll be set.

Sorry for the delay Flounder, here are my koi's pictures. I'm sorry for the mistake, but after re-reading my thread I made a type-o, the koi I wanted to replace for #31 was #52 not #25 my bad. I have attached pictures of #52, 9, 80 these are not current pictures, but taken 2 month ago out of QT don't know if I attached pic correctly oh well here goes nothing.
