    Updated pics from 02/10/2009.

    This is Shiro 1.

As much sumi was up on this Shiro when I recieved it, seemed to all go away with 5 months, then slowly came back. It is coming up more refine and the motoguro is coming out slowly too.

    This is Shiro 2.

This Shiro did the same as the sumi went away and is slowly coming back. The conformation on this Shiro is ranked higher with the bodyline more to my liking.

Thanks Bob...With all my tosai I play around every year with I dont focus too much on growth. What I do notice with my pond dynamics is that tosai usually put on a growth spurt in the 3rd year....So we will see how things are next season. What I do like out of the 2 Shiros is the height of the tail and that the bodies are long. Maybe next year I can pass these fish on to another hobbyist who has a bigger pond and see how they do from there.

What also makes this growout interesting is how many phases the fish will go through before the finish product. Right now I counted 1 phase where the sumi has gone and come back, so from what I have heard of Omosako Shiros is that there is 2 general phases. Hopefully the second phase will happen in the 3rd year with the sumi come back more refine and finished.
