    Smile Filter

Any one have any idea how this design would work as a filter. It would be for about a 3000 gallon pond. Made up of two fifty-five gallon barrels. One filled with layerd rocks, and the other with a cheap filter media. Both having bottom drains, feeding into a waterfall in the middle of the pond. Any ideas will be considered and apprcaited.

If this is the only filtration, I do not think it is adequate. Also, the gravel layers are a problem. The first stage in this system will get heavily loaded with gunk. Rock is too difficult to handle to get cleaned as frequently as it will need. Are you pumping from a bottom drain? Also, is the pump flow rate appropriate for gravity flow from the exit?
