    Omosako tosai selection pics

Omosako koi farm had sent me some pictures of their first selection process, and I thought i would share them with you.

So far they have done 6 sets of Shiro parents and 2 Showa pairings.
Takahiro says tosai are around 2 cm now.

I think people forget how labor intensive this part of koi breeding is. I always find myself talking to very loopy koi breeders this time of year. I fear these guys have spent too many hours looking at too many tiny black specs in little blue bowls.

Hi Shawn, These two Chigyo have good Katatsuki and they are nicely shinning, aren't they?

I have been following the Omosako daily too...

Super Kindai you beat me to the punch, the other Oya is named Patra.
Omosako also sent me pictures of some nisai mud ponds.
    this year:

    They named it Patra because......

as you know, Omosako farm is located in Kure city of Hirohsima......

Cleopatra => Kureopatra => Kure no Patre (= Patra of Kure city) ==> " Patra"........

    That is a big relief!
I typed in Patra in google to get an idea and found this video
YouTube - Patra - Queen Of The Pack

I was afraid I would have to give a stern talk to Takahiro about his music taste!
