    Koi in Winter

Is it beneficial for Koi to go through a cold winter dormancy period or better for them to stay in year round warmer temperatures?

Koi are a 4 season fish.

Tosai should be kept in warmer water their first winter (50 degs.). Our other Koi should have a fasting period of 6 to 8 weeks I believe I remember hearing during the winter.
