It has great info. Like the format as well... it makes me miss the Koi-Bito mag. I wish breeders here will have baby show like they have over there. That will be interesting for sure...

    Many thanks for the comments.

The only thing that makes a baby Koi show viable in Niigata is that there are so many breeders in such a close proximity. The Koi are removed from their ponds for just a matter of hours. Even then many breeders don't enter because of risks 'upsetting' baby Koi.

Finally got the free time to read #2 last night. Well done, Mark. It was interesting how much emphasis was placed on locating oyagoi by both Isa and Kawakami. I think that must reflect the impression made on you, since you are the editor. I think an article that focuses on the search for 'the right male' would be insightful.

    Hi Mike

    Thanks for the comments.

The emphasis both breeders place on oyagoi selection is a true reflection on the information they provided without any real editorial influence, other than the fact I asked the questions, and the fact I'd been asked previously by people about the reasons which dictate oyagoi selection.

Your suggestion is noted, something for the springtime once spawning season comes around again.

    Cheers

    Mark

I've just skimmed it. But look forward to reading it in depth.
    Thanks Mark.
