    I'm Done With Winter

I'm getting tired waiting for Mother Nature to end Winter, so I'm taking matters into my own hands.
Last fall when I moved the fish inside I took my three ES 8500 pumps out and replaced them with 2500s, just to keep some flow going for freeze protection. Well Sunday I put the 8500s back on and fired the pond up full force.
Then I went out and with a broom and scrubbed the walls and bottom to dis lodge all the algae.
I just can't say enough for the Cetus Sieve/Shower combination. The next morning the pond was free of all loose algae, the waste end of the sieves had collected it all, I had quite a pile in each. And the Foam Extractor was going full force, in only 24 hours. I was pretty amazed.
My fish inside have been going through a winter fast. Their water is 56 degrees. My outside pond water is 45 degrees so I turned the heater on and when the pond comes up and matches the indoor tank the fish will go back out.
I figure at the rate we're going with all the bad weather if I wait for Mother Nature to warm the pond up the fish will never get back outside. So heck with her, I'll do it myself.

Taking control of the situation A man with a plan and a mission can get things done if he prepares for it, and it looks like you did just that

This year I was, and boy am I glad I was. Earlier we went through a week of 8 below temps. I had everything winterized properly and nothing froze.

Good luck with your "take charge" initiative for spring. We'll have to check back this spring and see " how's that working for you"?

Here in western washington state, things have been mild, so i expect a late blast and am in no hurry to do anything for spring.......

Fresh snow around Mt Shasta and Mt Ashland last night on my drive up to Medford. Don't think winter is done quite yet.

    Looking good, Steve.

We've been running a Cetus and a Clarity for coming up two years now -- and don't know how we ever managed to get along without them.

15 to 20 inches of snow this past weekend and possibly 12 more inches Tues. & Wed. If it get any higher I'll have to bring it inside to melt in the bathtub lol. But after each day I can always say we are one day closer to SPRING.
