    how to get rich

Well, there is a way to get big dollars without feeding the first koi. Just the name is all you need it seems or the concept 'koi pond'. Sounds harmless doesn't it. Sounds easy. Well deep South Florida has a problem. Land owners are digging ponds in their back yard at a all time record pace. But it is not what goes in it that is valuable. It is what comes out...rock fill sold that is paying for land and homes in a matter of a short time. As soon as one starts minning and officials and ticked off neighbors show up and the question is "what in heavens name are you doing?" The reply is "I am digging a koi pond". Goes to court soon but so far they are getting away with it. I am talking ponds as long as a football field. That should grow a nice body.

geee between a LARGE pond and a pool taking up all the back (and side) yard....you could go along way in paying for the front yard and house.

it is LESS of an issue NOW...5 years ago during the building boom they QUIT issuing permits for mining in my area. I had a buddy with 40 acres of sand, he was in construction and they would not allow him to pull the first truckload out of it. Even back then he was aware he could pay off the property by "building" a 5 acre "bass pond...and the powers thta be said he could build the bass pond, but NOT take the dirt off the property... of course that caused the prices to escalate even faster...

Oolite rock is at a premium now. Used for foundations and road construction. Nobody is asking for permits, they are just digging. It is like the Wild West around here. Instead of gold and silver we have rockpits and oolite to fight over. There is allot of bored people around here with track hoes in their back yards as of late .
