Actually, Tennessee is consider the "Mid South" (as opposed to the "Deep South." Its the land of sweet tea and both types of music.....Country and Western.

Also the home of the first National KKK meeting and a little battle called Shiloh. By the way, don't ask what Millenium means either . If you want to feel like part of the tribe here is a hair style that will 'fit in'. And the B in 'BNA' stands for Berry Field.

Numerous "little battles" were fought in TN. Od course as you mention, Shiloh, but also Chickmauga, Lookout Mountain, Stones River and a host of other smaller battles. One of the South's most brilliant tactician's, General Nathan Bedford Forest was also the founder of the KKK. Too bad that that is what he is remembered for.

Other famous Tennesseans include, Old Hickory (Andrew Jackson), Sam Houston, and Davey Crockett to name a few. Andrew Jackson's home (Hermitage) is just outside of Nashville (to the east) as is the Stone's River Battlefield (to the southeast on the way down to the Jack Danials distillary).
