Well those 3 know how to pose don't they. (Then of course you must have the juvenile delinquent that just won't get in line)

    Hi Bradley,
Quite an impressive photo gallery and very nice koi as well. All the more impressive since they were all bred in Australia.

What were the number of koi entered and number of entrants this year. Are your show trends up, down, or stable?

You have done a great job taking and posting photos. I hope to make it down under to visit some of your events one of these days.

    Hi Ray

The majority of this years photos are by John Ling. I spent the day with a DV camera & have hours ahead to edit. Regarding the show numbers. Participation is strong & enthusiastic. Our show numbers remain roughly the same. This year was only slightly down on entrants. 35 exhibitors compared to 37 last year. The number of koi was 508, slightly up on prior years. We have more and more koi entered in size 6 (over 60cm) each year. The largest koi exhibited are around 76/77cm, most in Hikari & one being a Kinginrin Showa.

We would love to see you downunder one day.

now that is alot of koi per person.
amazes me to look through the nichrin and see high numbers of koi per person entered.

do you guys count the vendors and how many koi they bring.
I just think how full our car is with coolers of 5 fish not alone double to triple that.

Are you thinking koi can be bought from a vendor on the day & entered. This does not happen at our shows.

I think you need to look at the number koi in the smaller vs the larger sizes to put the numbers in perspective. For this show 271 koi were smaller than 40cm. Those sizes are the easiest to transport. Only 50 koi were over 60cm.

Of the 9 koi I took, only 3 represented real hard work, one a 49cm Sanke, a 55cm Shiro Utsuri & a 72cm Hikari Utsurimono. The smaller koi are so much easier to move.
