    Who do you buy from?

Just wondering.... What is your main source for koi online from japan? other than kodama koi farm... The local dealer's at Atlanta seem to have unreasonable prices....

Why do they have to be imported? There are some first rate domestic breeders that I trust more than most import dealers.

I agree with Cindy. Check out Purdin in Louisiana and Brady in North Carolina. You'll get better quality for your money, support the local breeders and develop a personal relationship with them.

Mystickoi.com For the rest of you feel free to throw your names out there of your favorite koi companys....as long as you don't work for or have an affiliation with them.

Other than certain koi that came to me unexpectedly, over the past several years I have dealt with only one dealer for imported koi, Kevin Pham in California.

Due to KHV concerns, I have become more interested in bio-secure domestics. Nisei Koi Farm in NJ has become my favorite. I have patronized and very much admire what is being accomplished at Lotusland Koi and Purdin Koi Farm. The right fish at the right time, and I would readily acquire from them.

All of these have treated me very fairly and gone beyond what was required to make me a happy customer.

for me, I have purchased recently from Richard Rombold, at SJKOI in California...

Nisai Koi Farm (QUality Koi) in New Jersey

    Russell Peters, at PSKOI, California

Shin Kawayoke at Koi and Pond Supply of Japan, Marengo, Illinois

The views I have are completely representative of who I am, and may/may not be representative of clubs I may or may not be a part of.

I'm not sure of the quality you are looking for , but WetPets about a hour north of Atlanta has nice Koi at a fair price. Most if not all of their stock are Japanese bred (Ogata). Always nice to have 2,500 Koi in front of you to pick from.

    Happy Shopping

Pan Intercorp for my imported fish. Great people, and great quality fish. They're active with supporting amateur shows and clubs and they've got everything from 30 dollar tosai to $50,000.00 GC contenders...

Domestically, I like NKF and Purdin. Both have gone above and beyond for a small dough customer who lives in washington and I have tremendous respect for both of 'em. Mat at NKF, and Bill and Maureen down at Purdin.

I buy straight from the breeder in Japan, no middle man, no blaming another person for sick koi if it ever happens. Get it from the source of the producer. I have bought from Mystic b/f & have never had any issues, very fair pricing and excellent customer service.
