    "Sump Pump" Pond

We just built a new home, and had planned to put in a nice pond. I dug the hole, installed the roofing material, and filled up the pond on July the 3rd, with plans to have fish in it before the Party on the 4th of July. Went to Walmart, bought some fish, and achieved my goal.
Now I have seven Koi, and several Shumbunkin, as well as some nice Comets. The Comets have had some adult fun in the pond, and now we have seven small fry!!!
I used a RubberMaid 150 gal container, pvc, a screen, filled with the Blue air-conditioning filters, (20 of them) for a Bio filter.
The "sump pump" feeding the pond turns the water over about every two days.
The fish are happy and what a great addition to the family!!!

Warning; some sump pumps, like the ones sold in "big box" stores, are not meant for continuous submerged duty and/or not as energy efficient as other pond submergible pumps.

I have three, I do not think that you understand, I have no choice, I pump out over 2500 gal a day, pond or no pond.

    Maybe you do not understand.

My "warning" pretained to the use of "sump pumps" like the Flotec Tempest 1/6 HP.

Maybe I do not understand what you mean by "sump pump"?

I recently purchased a RIO 26HF submergible pump that uses less than 1 amp and pumps 46,000 gallons a day.

    BTW: RIO makes smaller pumps.

Well, I kind of thought I understood until this post
You pump OUT over 2500 gpd with or without a pond?
Where is the pump(s)located and how are they being used?

Perhaps he is using his home sump pump flow in a pond flow through system?
