    moving koi

    a few questions

i need to move my summer grow and show into the pond from the growing tank
and move my winter grow and show into the growing tank

the growing tank is at 23.9 degrees c
and the pond is at 14/15 degrees c

what temperature difference would you say its safe to move them

    and also
is it right to put a koi that has been in 24 degrees for 7 months into a pond that is going into winter that could have temps down to 5 degrees c

will this have any health issues to the koi not parasites more physical internal

It's much safer and easier on Koi if the temp. change is no more then 5 of 6 degs. . Koi also do better (Less Stress) if there moving to warmer temps. then being moved to cooler temps. .

If your talking about smaller size Koi , floating them in a Bag in the new tank water would help with the temp. change , but still not a major temp. change.

Troy is talking in Farenheit. Translating to Centigrade, avoid a difference of more than 2-3 degrees, if possible. Better to go from cooler to warmer.
